Week Two: Meditations on Beauty


In practicing meditation, we must appreciate that which we see with our eyes outwardly as well as that which we perceive inwardly. Beauty, which is the manifestation of love, can be appreciated and digested in such a way that it creates in us a desire for wholeness. Beauty is the gift that naturally inspires the heart and the mind to seek for deeper states of being.

For those new to meditation, beauty can be an inspiration and catalyst for changing one’s consciousness. If our eyes are open to beauty, we see the miracle of creation in the face of an infant, the colors of a sunset, and the movement of the wind. More importantly, we see the subtle beauty behind the manifested beauty. When we experience beauty this way, meditation changes from an exercise to a blissful gift.
